One Day Residency

One good thing for artists to do is to apply to “artist in residence” programs. For a certain length of time, in a place that’s usually far from home, you get a studio and sometimes even a grant. You typically work on a topic of your own choice, and it ends with an exhibition where you can present your work.

Since the principle of the road is Motion, it’s not so easy to realize such a program while driving my Europastrasse. Which is why I had the idea of applying for “one-day residencies”; one day is the longest I can do them.

I’m particularly happy that the Finnish Museum of Photography responded positively to my request. Late Friday evening I’ll be arriving in Helsinki, and my exhibition will open on Sunday, 22 May.
